Dr. Alessandro Califano: Museums' role in fostering and managing geographically related cultural heritage digital information surveys. Based on a Central Asian Case Study

Mes Aynak is a Buddhist area in Logar, well documented at the National Museum of Afghanistan.

It is a classic case of opposed interests: exploiting mining resources, and protecting historical sites. With the National Museum in Kabul as the ideal partner for the project, OSACA aims at a FOSS app and open source maps for less expensive, flexible surveys.
